Tarquin Southwell has been playing and coaching polo since turning professional at the age of 21. He has competed all over the world, represented England in the FIP World Championships, Captained Great Britain as a junior and played for Team GB in the World Cup on snow in St.Moritz. Although still playing competitive polo, Tarquin also dedicates his time to coaching individuals, schools and corporates through his learn-to-play polo company, Tigre Polo where all newcomers and non-riders are welcome.
Tarquin also provides match commentary, demonstrations and public speaking globally and for television. He has committed to one sporting and charity challenge a year (next stop is crossing the Andes on horseback) and is really excited to turn his hand to ocean rowing this year. He has also completed the London Marathon three times, fundraising for the British Red Cross and a Make a Wish Foundation – a charity close to his heart.
